TOPIC: Gross Grünhorn 4.044 mt

Gross Grünhorn 4.044 mt 11 / 05 / 2011 15: 43 #815

Salita made Saturday May 7 2011. Little snow in the Bernese.
Parties from Konkordihutte. + you can not climb the normal route (the ice in the first part). E 'instead can scenderla skis.
The way is the one that passes through the Grunegghorn. From the refuge ascend to right to 300 mt towards Grunhornlucke, then turn Left and climb along the rocks on the left.
It points to the rocky bar that passes through a gully on the left (invisible from below). From here you enter the large plateau of Grunegghorn. At the end they leave the skis and leads to the ridge of Grunegghorn (up and down, side + challenging ascension). Warning: Output ice and delicate transition, just before the hill. From the hill 100 + meters always easy to attack the steep ridge that leads to the summit without difficulty.
+ you can not climb to the direct route to the summit on the west wall, as done by Impedovo members and the Lions 16 / 4.

The day before we had tried the Jungfrau, in the day from the Jungfraujoch train. Arriving at the end of Part ski mountaineering, the famous cross, it was in no condition (little snow, ice, crevasse very open end and no trace) and considering also the time we gave up. There were so many guides in Oberland, but no one took into account the Jungfrau and this has made us reflect.

Exit race from Sunday 8 May under snowstorm toward Lotschentalucke (Ref. Hollandia). You wake up at the end of the glacier, then 1h30m walk an easy trail.
Then by post to Goppenstein, where we had the car.

Good climb at all.

Luca

Yes, Gross Grünhorn where he died the great Loretan. And 'success on the Grunegghorn ridge.

As for the photos, it is the new forum mode that compresses (much) by default. I just wanted to see how it came out.

As for the half, I had withdrawn from the team (for health reasons and personal).

The team still has participated in this "hard" edition, but has not ended.
